Sunday Morning Worship

Today's message in Hosea 11 pictures God as a loving Father who called Israel out of Egypt and taught them to walk, yet the more He called, the more they turned away, so His judgment through Assyria is just and certain. Even so, God's heart recoils at giving them up: His compassion grows warm, and because He is God and not a man, He will not let His people go. He promises a day when He will roar like a lion and His children will return, a restoration fulfilled in Jesus, whose cross meets God's wrath with His love, and awaited in full at Christ's return.
