Over these weeks we've been sitting with Solomon's simple but urgent theme: avoid foolishness, and run hard after wisdom. It's God's practical instruction for how to actually live in the world He's placed us in.

Today we land in Proverbs 7, and it opens like a nature documentary, the kind you watched as a kid, where the camera pans from an unsuspecting warthog to the cheetah crouched and waiting in the grass. You know what's coming, and some part of you wants to shout "run!"

Solomon paints that same scene here, but the prey is a young man and the hunter is a seductive woman. It's a chapter that speaks directly to sexual temptation, and to the modern struggle with pornography, real issues someone here today needs to hear addressed. But more broadly, it's a picture of how all sin operates: it looks good, it feels good, it sounds good, and it promises to stay hidden, until it costs far more than we ever expected.

So as we open Proverbs 7 together, the question isn't really about the young man in the text. It's about us: if someone had a drone over our own lives right now, would we look like prey?
