John tells the Christmas story as a dramatic rescue. The true Light—Jesus—entered the world He created, yet the world did not know Him and His own people did not receive Him. This tragic rejection reveals the depth of human darkness and our tendency to live for ourselves rather than for our Creator.
But the story does not end there. In an astonishing act of grace, God does not abandon His creation. Instead, He intervenes. Those who receive Christ do so not by heritage, effort, or human will, but because God Himself gives them the right to become His children. Christmas, then, is the grand miracle: God stepping into our darkness to rescue us, name us, and make us His own.
