Acts 13 marks a turning point in the story of the early church as the Gospel begins moving intentionally to the nations. From the diverse and faithful church in Antioch, the Holy Spirit speaks, calling Barnabas and Saul to be sent out on mission. The church listens, prays, and obeys.
Along the way, God confirms His work through powerful acts—overcoming opposition, removing distractions, and opening hearts to believe. The conversion of the Roman proconsul shows that the Gospel reaches every level of society and every corner of the world.
Luke’s message is clear: God’s mission is possible—because God speaks, God goes with His people, and God has already secured the victory through Jesus.
